Gail was appointed to BAOS in June 2021, initially this was a temporary appointment with a focus on managing the transition of BAOS from the umbrella of the Royal College of Surgeons to become a standalone employer.

The full transition was completed in 2022 and Gail’s role was made permanent, Gail now oversees all aspects of running the BAOS office, works closely with the Officers and other Council Members and manages the Senior Administrator.

Gail has many years’ experience in both the corporate and NHS sectors at a senior level and is an experienced leader with excellent business acumen ensuring successful development and delivery of strategic business plans, policy and governance.

Gail is an influential ambassador with the ability to build high levels of engagement with stakeholders of all levels and is well versed in leading, supporting and working with Professional Boards, Councils and Forums.

Gail has vast experience sitting on various boards in an executive, non-executive, Director/Trustee and Chair capacity.

Outside of work, Gail enjoys spending time with her large family, reading and holidaying in the sun!
